How we label proof.
Every record says how strong it is. Nothing is shown as more than it is.
Self-declared
Your own record
What you wrote, or what Snap & Say filled in and you checked. Useful and honest, but it rests on your word.
Evidence attached
Backed by a photo or document
You attached the lab report, the product label, the certificate or a dated photo of the work. Anyone you share with can see it.
Checked
Checked by a named person
Someone checked the record against its evidence, and their name and the date are shown. Today this happens only in the demonstration.
Snap & Say and the labels
Filling a record with Snap & Say never raises its label: it saves typing, it does not prove anything. Attaching the label, report or certificate you photographed does. Nothing on Porthmon is called "verified".
Your records, your choice
- Records are shown to someone only when you choose: record by record, to one named person, until a date you set.
- You can withdraw what you shared at any time.
- We never sell farm data.
- Keeping your records is free, for good. Sharing records will be a low monthly extra; farmers who start before it launches get their first year free.
Alongside, not instead of
Porthmon is designed to work alongside RPW Online, EIDCymru, FARMDATA+, assurance schemes and the industry data exchanges being built for UK farming. It does not replace any of them, and it does not decide whether you meet a scheme's rules: your dashboard, your assessor and your inspector do.
